Nose: Baking spice, raisin, black currant, and violent. This wine is very floral and smells deep and complex.
Palate: Red cherry, subtle notes of tobacco and mint. This wine is full bodied while showing finesse and depth.
Notes:
Amarones grapes are air dried for generally 3 to 5 months before pressing, this is known as “appassimento”.
This process concentrates the sugar in the grapes and leads to a full bodied wine that does well with aging.
This wine is still rather young for an amarone.
